Online Lead Generation is what it’s name states, generating leads online.
There are actually many reasons to generate leads online and online lead generation is accomplished in many different ways. I most cases there are two distinct types of leads generated online:
1. Sales Leads: These leads are specifically generated (in most cases direct to the company) to supply a sales team with lead information to call, email or meet to create a sale / purchase. You can also think of the lead generating a sale as closing a deal, becoming a member, registering for an event, etc. It’s a transaction of some type that gets you in front of your target audience.
2. Marketing Leads: These leads are generated to supply agencies or marketers with leads based on specific criteria that is useful to many companies, firms and organizations. These leads are then sold to the companies that would benefit from them, they are used in campaigns for client companies or they are nurtured by the companies, firms and organizations who are acquiring the leads. These typically do not have a purchase or transaction associated with their acquisition, the purpose is to obtain that contact info of a qualified target and “market” to them.
